My Blogging Debut

Whelp, I finally did it.  I took the plunge.  I have been debating this whole blogging thing for quite awhile, now.  Everybody and their mother has a blog these days and truthfully I wondered what I would have to blog about that would be different and new and exciting!  Well, about eight months ago I took a different plunge.  I had dabbled in direct sales before, but this was different.  I found "the thing" that I knew was going to be a game changer.  I became a Jamberry consultant.

So, what exactly is Jamberry?  They are vinyl nail wraps that you apply with heat and pressure.  They are virtually idiot proof for people like me who are nail polish challenged.

There is ZERO dry time.  Which means I can stop in the middle of my manicure to break up the fight that my kids have inevitably gotten themselves into.  Or I can go to the bathroom (which also is inevitable) and even wash my hands!

It also means I can have a manicure in my pajamas in the comfort of my own home without needing to make an appointment (after I've found someone to watch the kids) and carve out at least an hour or two of my weekend and then be assaulted by that wonderful smell that smacks you in the face when you walk into a nail salon.

Jamberry nail wraps are also gluten free, vegan, latex free, non toxic, and made in the good ole' US of A.  This may not be a big deal to some people, but to me it's HUGE!  Our family suffers from horrible food sensitivities, and gluten is pretty much #1.  It means that I won't get sick from possibly absorbing anything into my skin, and my 3 year old daughter won't get sick if she accidentally swallows one of her Jamberry Juniors wraps (yes, they come in junior sizes perfect for most girls through age 8 and they are ADORABLE).

<------ See that, right there?  Yeah, I could never do that with nail polish.  Nor would I have the patience to do it.

Or this...

And the big thing that totally sold me on Jamberry is how long they last.  I'm a very busy mom and I am constantly washing my hands and cooking and cleaning.  I'm really hard on my hands and Jamberry withstood the test.  I wear my wraps for about a week.  And most of the time I change my wraps because I'm impatient and want something different on my nails, not because I have to.  I know women who leave them on for two weeks or longer without any problems with their wraps.

And the best part? I get to supplement my husband's income.  Jamberry has been an incredible way to work from home (most of my parties are online) and it doesn't interfere with homeschooling and I don't have to take time away from my kids or put them in daycare.  I get to be part of a sisterhood of other women who are unbelievably encouraging and supportive.  My husband is still my biggest cheerleader, though :)

<----- And this is my famous manicure.  It has taken Pinterest by storm!  I don't know if I'll ever create another manicure equal in fame to this.

So, there you have it!  Check back in here frequently to see my latest manicures and musings.  And don't be shy!  Please ask me anything and check out my Jamberry website to order or host a party http://apriltorres.jamberrynails.net/  I would also be happy to send you a sample :)
